click to expand Is it possible to attend an Argosy University campus in another state, get teacher certification in that state and then transfer it to the state where I reside?

Yes, but it is the student's responsibility to determine if restrictions or prohibitions are in place in the state they wish to transfer their license to.   For example, you may obtain teacher certification in California and then apply for a teacher license in another state.  Your state may give you a provisional license while you do what is necessary to be licensed in your home state.

While both programs are practitioner focused in the field of providing mental health services, the Psy.D. curriculum generally reflects an emphasis on the assessment, treatment and diagnosis of mental illness.  Counseling is a more holistic approach to the study of mental health.  The clinical training component in the Psy.D. is extensive and generally precludes full time employment as a practitioner.  The Ed.D. is intended to be manageable for working practitioners with clinical training focusing on supervision of entry level counselors, teaching, and advanced practice.
